WHAT TO CONSIDER WHEN YOU'RE EXPLORING A NEW AREA

If your home search is expanding, here's what to consider when exploring an area that you may not already be familiar with.

Whether you are looking in Sarasota Florida or just about anywhere else to buy a home, it's important to keep these things in mind for long-term satisfaction with where your home is located.

First of all, narrowing your priorities will save you a lot of time as you search for a new home. Are you buying an investment property? Are you buying a second home to live in yourself? Are you buying a primary home, whether as a local or as a relocator?

If you're exploring a new area for investment purposes, make sure you ask all of the questions up front! HOAs and local ordinances can limit the use of properties for short term and vacation rentals, so you want to understand those rules fully before committing to a purchase.

For a second home or primary home purchase, it's essential to consider what the neighborhood offers for you and your family. Being near your favorite leisure activities and preferred schools are top of mind, of course, but so are considerations like traffic noise, public events, and flood insurance.

There are SO MANY things to consider when exploring an area, so start making a list of your specific priorities and then launch a search in your desired location.
